Waking up with a slightly funny feeling in the stomach, maybe I caught the bug… Time will tell. Before we head south we squeeze in horse trekking.
Vera and Pernilla take off with a guide and Gus from Australia. Gus has more horse experience than Vera and my ages put together and he breeds Australian stockbreed horses. He is NZ for a Charity trail ride. You ride at your own (or your horse’s pace) and gather with the other riders at fixed destinations. Food and you gear is all arranged for and the trail goes trough areas normally not open for riding. We have to come back for this!!! Chilli and Jojo are our horses and we set out in the very hot sunny countryside. 2 hours later tired but happy riders return to continue our journey to Paraparaumu. This town hosts a top links golf course. Paraparaumu golf club has hosted 12 open national championships and Tiger Woods has played and came second! Our campsite has private facilities and you can see a lot of the occupied sites are permanently.
